Overview

GENE-26.5 is a robotics foundation model developed by Genesis AI, a San Carlos, California-based startup ($105M in funding), unveiled on May 6, 2026 alongside a proprietary human-scale robotic hand as part of a full-stack robotics system. The model is designed to absorb large datasets and generalize learned skills to previously unseen long-horizon manipulation tasks.

The stack also includes a tactile-sensing data glove enabling 1:1:1 mapping between the human hand, glove, and robotic hand, and a next-generation simulation engine aimed at reducing the sim-to-real gap. All quantitative claims (e.g., 100x cheaper data acquisition, 5x efficiency) come from Genesis AI's internal testing and have not been independently verified.
