Nyokkey is an autonomous mobile service robot developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Development began in spring 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially as a patrol robot for hospital wards. The robot was officially introduced in 2022.
The robot moves on wheels and is equipped with two robotic arms for manipulation tasks. It uses LiDAR for autonomous mapping and navigation (AMR), and vision sensors for object recognition and collision avoidance. It features an interactive screen and speakers. Nyokkey is designed as a co-creation platform adaptable through software developed by Kawasaki and its partners.
