MagicBot Z1 is a compact bipedal humanoid robot developed by MagicLab. Standing 136.9 cm tall and weighing approximately 40 kg, the robot offers 24 degrees of freedom in the standard configuration and up to 50 DOF in the Development Edition. Designed for high-dynamic motion, the Z1 achieves walking speeds of up to 2.5 m/s and features knee joints with a peak torque of 100 N·m (Standard) or 130 N·m (Development).
The robot is equipped with a multi-sensor perception suite including a 3D LiDAR, depth camera, binocular fisheye camera, and head tactile sensor. Joints are driven by low-inertia permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) controlled at 25 kHz. Power is supplied by a hot-swappable 10,000 mAh (15-cell) battery providing approximately 2 hours of operation. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
The Z1 is available in two editions: the standard Z1 and a Development Edition featuring the optional MagicHand S01 dexterous hand (11 DOF), an optional high-performance computing module, and 3 kg per-arm payload. OTA firmware updates are supported, and the open-source SDK is compatible with ROS 2.
