ChatGPT Work

ChatGPT Work is one of ChatGPT's working modes (alongside Chat and Codex) offered by OpenAI. It is an agent mode built for longer, multi-step projects that produce finished deliverables: documents, spreadsheets, presentations, reports and interactive websites (Sites).

The system gathers context from connected apps and the user's files, plans its approach, and works autonomously over extended periods while the user stays in control of the outcome. It supports scheduled tasks — one-off, recurring, or event-triggered (webhook) — and connects to tools through connectors based on the MCP (Model Context Protocol) standard.

ChatGPT Work integrates with tools including Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Calendar, GitHub, Google Docs and Google Sheets, as well as enterprise tools such as Salesforce, Oracle and Databricks. The mode is available in the desktop app (macOS and Windows) for all plans, and on web and mobile for the Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans.

According to the official product page, ChatGPT Work is powered by GPT-6 (the "Astra" tier); at its July 2026 launch it ran on the GPT-5.6 family (the "Sol" variant). OpenAI stated that Codex and ChatGPT Work combined reached roughly 10 million users.
